The Tastiest Gingerbread Cake

INGREDIENTS:
  • ¼ cup Traditional All-purpose Lard
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp clove
  • ½ tsp salt

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Combine ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup all-purpose  lard, ½ cup butter, 1 egg, 1 cup molasses and 1 cup hot water.
  2. Next combine 2 ½ cup all purpose flour, 1 ½ tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger, ½ tsp clove, ½ tsp salt.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth. 
  4. Pour into a lard-greased and floured 9x13 baking pan. Bake for approximately 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Serve warm with whipped cream and extra cinnamon
