INGREDIENTS:
- ¾ cup Traditional All-purpose Lard
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
STEP-BY-STEP:
- Combine 1 cup molasses, ¾ cup all-purpose lard, ½ cup hot water in large bowl. Next add 2 eggs.
- Mix 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp ginger,
- 6 cups all-purpose flour together.
- Add to wet mixture. Mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Roll dough out on a lightly lard-covered surface. Cut with desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for roughly 10 minutes.
TIP: We recommend making a double batch and freezing them for later, trust us–you’ll want more.
