The Softest Gingerbread Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
  • ¾ cup Traditional All-purpose Lard
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ginger 
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour

STEP-BY-STEP:
  1. Combine 1 cup molasses, ¾ cup all-purpose lard, ½ cup hot water in large bowl. Next add 2 eggs.
  2. Mix 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp ginger, 
  3. 6 cups all-purpose flour together.
  4. Add to wet mixture. Mix well.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Roll dough out on a lightly lard-covered surface. Cut with desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for roughly 10 minutes.

TIP: We recommend making a double batch and freezing them for later, trust us–you’ll want more.
